MY INNOCENCE BACK PLEASE

I wish i was a child again

chasing roosters chasing hens

innocent like kids should be

cuddle mum and poke my tongue

at the ladies with fat bums

my big hour could have been

chasing tadpoles in the creek

giggled at for dirty knees

by vasie gertzos in my dreams

playing nurses with the cream

I didn't worry bout a thing

I still don't now, but i have to sing

and I have to play this mandolin

and pen the next children sing

I wish I was a kid again
